A Letter to My Dear Daughter

Dear Daughter,

There will always be those who sing your praises, extolling your virtues and the positive impact you have on the world. They may describe you as having the soul of an angel and the grace of a doe. However, there will also be those who treat you poorly, using and abusing you while wanting to see you suffer. They may hurl insults at you and twist your story in unrecognizable ways.

But, my daughter, you must always remember that these are their issues, not yours. They are playing games of angels and demons, while you are simply a girl, and that's perfectly okay. When they try to elevate you to a pedestal and restrict you, simply smile and ask them to stop. And when they drag you through the mud, hold your head high, stand tall, and fight back if you need to.

Choose your own identity and your own path, deciding when and how to wear the hats and labels others try to place on you. Be true to yourself, kind and compassionate to others, and always fight for what is right. Don't be afraid to make mistakes and forgive yourself for your imperfections.

Remember that you are made of stardust, sunshine, butterfly wings, and other beautiful things. Be yourself, my dear girl, and one day become a woman who creates a world where Women's Day is no longer necessary.
